Computer Hardware

Even though computers have lost some of their popularity thanks to smartphones and tablets, they are still an invaluable tool to have both at home and in the office. There are things you can do with computers that you can’t do with your mobile devices and, let’s face it, who wants to look at a six inch screen all day?

There are many computer manufacturers that make many different models of computers with various specifications, which gives you a lot of choices, but still may not give you everything you want. It’s like buying a car that has all the options you want but is missing one feature (such as heated seats) which might make it a deal breaker.

This is where building your own computer comes into play. When you are able to select the exact components you want inside your computer, then you end up with a computer that has everything you want. The only problem is that you can’t just go to the store and pick it up and bring it home and plug it in. It will most likely involve several hours of work and a little bit of aggravation along the way.

This book was written to give you a hand in building your new computer by guiding you through the process of selecting the parts, assembling the computer, and then making sure everything works properly after all the pieces are in place. The build process for computers will not be exactly the same for everyone, so keep that in mind when going through this book if something doesn’t make sense. You may still need to do a little research on your own for issues related to your specific build.
